What to do if you are seeing this message on any of the pages of your Joomla website.

This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

This issue will have arisen because your website has been upgraded from a previous version of Joomla such as 1.5 or 2.5 and the content is using an older version of the cloaking software.

Usually opening each effected page and resaving will fix the issue.

If the warning is still visible or you may multiple occurrences of the issue it will be simpler to disable the cloaking plugin.

Login into the backend of your website and open the plugin manager under extensions.

Type email in the search box and you will be able to see the email cloaking plugin. It will show a green tick as it is enabled.

Click the tick and a red cross will appear to show it has been disabled.
